7 Super Sandy Beaches of Mainland Greece

What is a great super beach for someone depends mostly of the traveler itself. Someone like wide, open beaches with tons of amenities and someone like privacy and hidden coves. Someone else prefers sand and someone prefer pebbles, there are also lovers of shallow or deep waters, lovers of rocks ... However, nature has given us diversity and it is up to us to choose what pleases us. These are my favorite sandy beaches of mainland Greece!

Sani- Paw traveller
Sani- Chalkidiki
At the beginning of the first finger, along the sand dunes area, there is a shoreline with a magnificent 7 km long Sani beach. The beach is sandy with very fine white-gold sand, and the waters near the coast are shallow and calm which is ideal for young children.
The beach is not organized (except the part in front of the hotel) and you won't meet a bunch of drunk teenagers at the beach bars you can see so often in some islands and coastal cities in Greece. This is a place to rest in peace and quiet.

Potistika- Paw traveller
Potistika- Pelion
If you like long walks, from the village of Xinovrisi on Pelion you can follow a four-kilometer trail that runs through a gorge with rich flora and fauna that ends on the lovely and majestic sandy beach of Potistika.
The beach is also accessible by car, and there is a small field improvised into the parking lot where you can leave your car.
In my opinion Potistika is the most beautiful beach of Pilion, where swimming in crystal clear water is a real pleasure.
The beach is large and long and in extend you will find two more beaches, Melani and Palci. During our stay we used to come to this beach everyday and we did not get bored at all.
It is a real pleasure just to sit under the huge rocks listening the sound of the waves, or let yourself enjoi siesta on the beach.

Kastri- Paw traveller
Kastri- Pelion
In the southeastern part of Pelion, on the Aegean side, you will find the Castri beach.
A beautiful beach overlooking the island of Skiathos where you can enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters.
This beach with fine golden sand and shallow waters is ideal for young children but also for adults, as well.
The quiet ambience and peaceful surroundings make it an ideal place for camping, swimming and surfing. Visitors can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, dive in the crystal clear waters or just lie in the sun and enjoy time with family and friends.
Kastri is located near the village of Katiogiorgios where you will find few tavernas with great food.

Agia Triada- Paw traveller
Agia Triada- Peloponnese
Agia Triada is one of the most beautiful beaches in this part, for those who are looking for something different.
The road to this beach is not great because the beach is located deep below the cliff, but it is worth it because you will discover a hidden paradise of unique beauty.
This is not an organized beach, so get organized before you start enjoying the crystal clear waters without stress.
You can leave the car at an extension above the beach and then have to descend a hundred meters on foot. This beach can be reached from the village of Charokopio.

Divari- Paw traveller
Divari- Peloponnese
Divari beach is a huge expanse of fine golden sand that stretches from the village of Gialova to Paleokastro Hill.
As the beach is very large and long there is room for everyone. There is no crowd on this beach, and if you want you can have complete privacy.
The water is incredibly shallow and calm which makes it ideal and safe for young children. If you are comming by car, there are many small expansions along the road where you can park.
You can also explore this beach and its surroundings with a bike that you can rent before entering the area. You can also walk through the Gialova Lagoon to the famous Voidokilia Beach (about 20 minutes on foot), or if you are in a good shape, climb the hill to Paleokastra - the ruins of a thirteenth-century Frankish fort (about 45 minutes on foot).

Orange beach- Paw traveller
Orange beach- Sithonia
I love this beach because here nature has shown perfection, white sand and turquoise water make you feel as if you are in the Caribbean Sea.
This beach is very small so for a real experience it is better to visit during the off season when there are no unbearable crowds. Beach is different and the water on it is so clear that you can see through it.
There is a lot of marine life.
This is a place with great views and the waters are suitable for both children and adults. The rocky part of this beach is fantastic!

Sikia- Paw traveller
Sikia- Sitonia
Sikia Beach is located on the southeast coast of Sithonia.
This beach is within a short drive from Sarti, and unlike Sarti beach, the big plus of this beach is that it is not crowded.
This beautiful beach is about two kilometers long and has crystal clear water, which is why it is marked with a blue flag.

Sikia Beach is a long and wide sandy beach with a nice view of Athos.
The sea bottom is also covered with sand and is of fine depth, neither shallow nor deep. The beach is organized with several bars with parasols and deck chairs, but there aren't too many, so if you want you can find a place just for yourself and have some privacy.

8 affordable accommodations on your favorite destinations in Greece

Paw traveller Planning a holiday on your own can be a hassle for someone and a challenge and joy for someone else.  We have been traveling for years by finding accommodation on our own , asking questions directly to the accommodation providers and negotiating prices. Long time ago we choose this method primarily to find exactly what we needed, and also because of the fact that the Paw traveller group is made up of two four-legged travellers, which we do not always but often take with us on holidays. If you are also taking your furry friend with you, read the post  Responsible Guest- May your DOG recommend you? In this search for the perfect accommodation that will satisfy specific taste of your hairy companion, the   Pet friendly map of Greece  may also be helpful. In this post we present you affordable accommodations with links where we stayed and were satisfied with the price/quality ratio.
